Advent is a time of great excitement and anticipation in the Church. We are waiting for the coming of the promised Messiah! The One who will bring healing, justice, grace, and a new way of seeing and being in the world. The prophet Isaiah brings us a vision from God of this life with the Messiah.
We invite you to come along on this journey through the season of Advent!
Together in online small groups, we will reflect on how God has given us a vision that allows us to “Look Beyond” our current situation to a future with hope.

What is Sacred Time?
Connect with people who long for a spiritual renewal during Advent. Join an online group for one hour each week to be held by these ancient texts from scripture that challenge and comfort our spirit. Share stories with those who gather in community. Make time for prayer.
Typical Sacred Time experience
- Listen and reflect on the weekly theme, scripture, and questions we face in our lives.
- Facilitated breakout groups to listen and share stories as we confess our perspectives.
- Closing guided meditation.
When do groups meet?
Monday or Tuesday at various times throughout the day each week. Commit to a time with confidence that you can join another group if life happens.
Note: some groups are set aside for clergy only.
How?
Prepare for Sacred Time:
- Access to discussion guide, available on the password protected Sacred Time Advent page.
- Reflect on the scripture throughout the week.
- Show up for your Sacred Time group. Can’t make it? Check the website for options.
- Take a step beyond with a small action item each week that relates to the theme.

For one hour each week, we will gather online to reflect on how God has given us a vision that allows us to “Look Beyond” our current situation to a future with hope. Each session will offer discussion on thoughtful questions, time for sharing stories, prayer, and guided meditation.
