Journal through Advent

with the creators of LEAD’s Advent Resources

December 1 – 22, 2015
The group will meet for online conversations on Tuesdays from 6 – 7pm (central time). Sessions will be recorded for those who are unable to attend at that time.

$20 for the facilitated group (book and supplies to be purchased separately)

Participants must purchase Waiting for the Light from Inward/Outward AND register for Journal through Advent (the facilitated group).

Join Vonda Drees and Lynn Willis in this small group experience. Learn about the various journaling techniques and spiritual practices that inspired their work and explore your own Spirit-led creativity.

Participants will use Pastor Kayla McClurg’s 28-day Advent devotional, Waiting for the Light, for individual study and as inspiration for journaling. As a member of the Journal through Advent group, you will meet together through a private Facebook group and weekly online video conferences to share journal images, thoughts and questions; to grow deeper in your own spiritual practices; and to build community with your fellow pilgrims on the journey.

Practice trusting God’s economy of grace, where all ink is holy and there are no mistakes.
Consider this a workout for your imagination as you co-create with the Spirit.
– Vonda Drees

Vonda artist

Vonda Drees uses her artistic gifts and passion for art journaling to create images and stories that she freely shares with others through her blog and through LEAD resources that support faith practices for individuals and congregations. Vonda is a connector between leaders across the world using collaborative art projects to teach and inspire. Vonda is also a popular retreat leader, walking beside participants as they embark on their own journaling journeys. In Vonda’s own words:

Art journaling is a way for me to process the Spirit’s stirring via scripture, reflections, poetry, and music. If it catches my attention, I do my best to listen and respond.
