Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. Indeed, by faith our ancestors received approval. By faith we understand that the worlds were prepared by the word of God, so that what is seen was made from things that are not visible. Hebrews 11:1-3

There is a moment for people like us, when we realize that our grief for unmet expectations turns into renewed energy. The grief is real and with us, we are still healing, but it is not a barrier to trying out new ideas. We recognize God’s call to move through the pain and disappointment into rebirth.

We have the power to make a plan.

We are people who love to plan –we feel God moving through our plans. Our anxiety about the unknown has put a gridlock on planning, but now is the moment for one of our most faithful leadership moves. We can act out of our trust, that God has got us, even when we can’t see the path yet. It is our Hebrews 11:1-3 moment

Reclaiming our agency and our energy to focus starts with making a short-term plan. We don’t all have to invest in strategic planning for the next five years just yet. We can start with a short-term win.  We can reframe our metrics for success as we look in the rearview mirror at 2020 and we can set empowering metrics for next year as we look through the windshield of 2021.

LEAD is inviting you to set Faithful Metrics with a group of professional and lay Christian leaders from your congregation. Here are two invitations – which is right for you?

Saturday, December 5 from 9am-12pm CT

We will begin with a quick look in the rearview mirror to calibrate our starting place before shifting to the windshield, with an introduction to setting faithful metrics for next year. Leave with a plan to inspire a few clear next steps as you focus the future.

Saturday, January 16 from 9am-12pm CT

All our eyes are on the windshield as we imagine what the new year might hold and how we can be ready to pivot when we are surprised by life, or grace. The first hour will focus on resiliency before shifting to an introduction to setting faithful metrics for the new year. Leave with a plan to inspire a few clear steps as you focus on the future.

Pass this invite to the leaders among you. Faithful metrics engage us in what the Holy Spirit is already doing. We can create a culture of planning that calibrates over time.
