The Governor had the power.
He said “go” even though the baby was due.

The Innkeeper had power.
He said “no” even though the baby was coming.

The Host of Heaven had power
as they prayed for “peace on earth.”

The usually powerless shepherds said “yes”
and shared their story and awe.

The least powerful person in this story – the baby –
changed all of human history.

This helpless immigrant infant
will create a holy revolution.

Now, not individual prowess, but our collective humility
has the power to do God’s will.

May we use whatever power we have
to say “yes” and tell our stories.
